Hi! My name is Aiwen and I’m 11 years old. I have been drumming since I was 4 years old.
I really love drumming because with other instruments I have to be really gentle and delicate with my movements, but with drumming I can let out everything and hit the drums as hard as I can.
Hit Like A Girl contest has made me push myself with drumming and become a better drummer. Every year I try to play a harder song than the last year and this song is the hardest and most fun song I have every learned. This contest has also helped me make friends in other parts of the world. For example, the shirt I am wearing in my video was sent to me from a friend in Thailand that I met because of Hit Like A Girl.
Some of my favourite drummers are Tarn Softwhip, Kriss Drummer, Matt Mcguire and Danny Carey because they all play with good technique and lots of power. I also love the bands Sum 41 and Bring Me The Horizon.
