Hi! My name is Abbie. I am a 19-year-old drummer from Brisbane, Australia. It is my dream to be a full-time session drummer! I have been playing drums for 6 years, and I am currently in my 2nd year of university studying for a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Jazz Drums. I chose to study music, specifically jazz, to expand my music knowledge, technical abilities, and learn about the different approaches to my instrument.

Ever since I graduated school in 2021, I’ve been playing drums for various local musicians, bands, and productions – touring and performing in music venues around Australia. I absolutely love playing for and with other musicians, it is my biggest passion! Also, since 2020, I have been posting drumming videos online. I started on TikTok as @lildrummergirl1 and then started posting on Instagram too as @abbiedrums. I deeply appreciate all the incredible support my videos have received worldwide! Through my online platforms, I have been noticed and endorsed by legendary bands and musicians such as John Densmore (The Doors), Femi Koleoso (Ezra Collective, Gorillaz), Mike Dirnt (Green Day), Motorhead, Iron Maiden, The Smashing Pumpkins, Andres Forero, and Jonathan Moffett.

I chose to play “La Villa Strangiato” by Rush for my audition as a tribute to Neil Peart. It is one of my favourite Rush pieces ever!
