Hello, my name is Stephanie. I’ve been playing the drums for 5 years, unless you count all the years I used pots and pans with wooden spoons as a kid. This is my third year entering HLAG. I have loved music for as long as I can remember, and especially drums.
I decided to learn this Audioslave song as it’s always a great reminder to Be Yourself! Plus, I loved the soulful sound, and the ability to put my interpretation on the song and utilize my entire kit. This video was done as a single playthrough. I’m taking advantage of Moises.ai using a drumless track, so the only drums and cymbals you are hearing are mine!
I am playing a WFLIII custom drum kit along with DW titanium snare, Zildjian K series cymbals, and DW stands and pedals.
A major shout out to Pat Gerasia of The Violent for being an awesome drum coach and putting up with me all these years!
What drummers inspire me, besides my drum teacher? The usual suspects are: Taylor Hawkins, Dave Grohl, Mike Portnoy. Jen Ledger and Hayley Cramer are amazing to watch, also Per Andreasson, Rick Allen and Barry Kerch just to name a few. This list could really go on forever.
