This is my 3rd year submitting to HLAG and it’s been another positive experience of learning and growth, inspired by female drummers locally and from around the globe. I rocked it out to an original song tributed to HLAG and Drummer Girls’ United drummers, “Chicks With Drumsticks (feat Lil Lim)” (https://soundcloud.com/susan-schabacker/chickswithdrumsticksshorterversion) that the Beatmaking Team of Beats by Girlz reviewed and offered advice on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQxlvxWzaos

The main focus of my musical pursuits and endeavors is to mindfully merge meaningful message + mission with magical music, with passion and purpose of helping others and making our world a better place. I’m grateful to use my musical and creative gifts to support others’ lives, uplifting and inspiring with a positive message in my music.

I love getting into the music zone, going with the flow, and letting the melody take me on an exciting journey, like no other, that’s a creative process of spontaneous mindfulness. It allows for full freedom of creative and artistic expression that’s free form, without limits.

Drumming is essential to me, as the rhythms of life, giving each song an essential heartbeat that keeps it alive and in motion; vital and vibrant. Drums are an essential and precious part of my life I have truly benefited from, also an important form of music therapy, helping me heal and recover from ongoing traumas of a non-epileptic seizure disorder, past abuse, and mental illness diagnoses.
