Hello and thank you for allowing me to be a part of this amazing contest! I was unable to have a studio track done, so I am submitting a rehearsal recording which is not ideal. However, this is one of my favorite songs called “The Latin Song” that I sing to my youngest granddaughter, and is a tribute to our unbelievably talented former bass player who we lost this past December due to complications from diabetes. I have played music most of my life, beginning with the viola in the 4th grade which began my love of music. All of the different instruments complimenting each other, creating vibrations and energy that can lift your spirit, and bring people together in a celebration of life. Music is one of the most unifying forms of art that we have, and as a musician I feel it is our job to facilitate an environment where people come together and are uncontrollably drawn to the rhythms that allow us to decompress, get up and dance, and truly enjoy the moment.

Glad to see another band-drummer entry. You probably know I’ve entered with the band all 8 entry entries, but this year impossible to get everyone’s free day on the same day for my usual rock tune. So, I entered alone, sort of the opposite of your entry this year. Fun to try something new with a swing/jazz tune too. Sorry about your snafus. Good Luck!
