My name is Ainsley Frasca and I’m from Calgary, Canada. I am 14 years old, and I started drumming when I was 10. I love drumming and challenging my abilities by learning difficult songs. When I’m drumming I feel happy, accomplished, and excited. I also love performing and have been lucky to play at some really cool places with the School of Rock House Band like the Coca-Cola stage at the Calgary Stampede, the King Eddy in Calgary, and Gas Works Park in Seattle. Some of my favourite bands are the Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Paramore, Fleetwood Mac, and Taylor Swift. I had two major eye surgeries this school year which meant I had to miss out on a season show with the School of Rock while I recovered. In that show I was supposed to play BYOB by System of a Down but unfortunately, I never got the chance. When I was cleared to drum again in February, I decided I would play it for the HLAG contest. I like playing BYOB on the drums because it alternates between a fast paced, difficult speed and a slower part where I can just feel the music and let the rhythm carry me. Hope you enjoy the video! 🙂
