Cissy Zhang

Hi, my name is Cissy Zhang from Canada. I am 9 years old and have been drumming for over two years.
My favourite drummers are Kristina Rybalchenko and Tarn Softwhip. I love their crazy energy, clean drumming technique, and how they interpret the music.
I love bouncing around the drums. Though it is a journey full of frustration, tears and persistence, it is also a way to express my creativity with freedom, to challenge myself and most importantly, to be HAPPY.
I am proud to see my friend pick up her violin when she sees how I practise passionately and persistently. I am also greatly inspired when a classmate asks for my autograph after my performance at school. All those developed my confidence and created a unique way to connect with friends.
I chose the song ‘Beat It’ because one day, I watched its drum cover by Jonathan Moffett, the energetic beats deeply attracted me, and it also sounded so much fun to play.
Thank you to the Hit Like A Girl family for the encouragement and support, especially the precious friendship I gained here. It makes my drumming path even more enjoyable and motivating.
