Teacher/School: Bridger Love at School of Rock Gilbert
My name is Kierlan Shull and I am 16 years old. I am a junior in high school and have been drumming for about 2 1/2 years. I started drumming on my brother’s kit and it kind of came naturally to me. When my brother and his friends were creating a band, I asked if I could join. Although my brother said it would be cool, the band said no. One of the guys said they couldn’t have a “girl drummer”. That was what motivated me. I was going to prove to them that even though I was a girl, I could be a badass drummer. I enrolled at School of Rock and met my teacher Bridger. He has been instrumental in helping me learn the finer aspects of drumming. We love the same music so it helps a lot. Plus everyone says we look alike too. I love drumming, learning new songs, and challenging myself. When I am not drumming, I swim for my school’s swim team, go fishing, and hang out with friends.
It looks like the best players this year are in the 13 – 17 category. And the better players are submitting their videos later. Love your energy. You have massive skills. I hope you listen to lots of types of music so you can be very versatile. You are well on your way to being a “badass” drummer.😀
