Hi! I am Madeline and I am in grade seven, I just turned 13 at the end of February. I play soccer, badminton, figure skate and practice playing drum as well as flute, and piano on occasion. For this song entry, I watched a tutorial from drummer Steve Smith on youtube, produced by Drumeo, and wanted to give it a try. I learned most of this myself and also practiced a bit with an instructor that I see once a week. I found it to be challenging because of the open handed playing and the limb independence required to play. I am currently listening and learning challenging drum parts from Toto, System of a Down, Led Zeppelin and The Police. When I recorded this video, I didn’t have this contest in mind, so please forgive my ‘concentration face’ and I was wearing my pajamas! Thanks for taking the time to watch my video.
