Hi! I’m Maja – an 18-year-old drummer from Poland. I’ve been playing drums for almost 4.5 years. When I first saw a drummer play live I just fell in love with this instrument, it looked like it’s so much fun to play. And it is!
For the first 3 years of my playing I didn’t have a drum set at home, but I was so desperate to play that I build a “drum set” out of books and chairs and practiced on it. Some of my favorite drummers are Josh Dun, Stewart Copeland and Ash Soan.

Nice variety of sgtyles. I started the same way you did, using pots and wooden spoons from the kitchen to play along with my father, a jazz pianist. I only bought a set of drums when I left graduate school and than played with bands from 1967 to 1983 and then again in 1999, 2000, and 20008. I hope you continue enjoying this wonderful instrument as I have, now approaching my 80th birthday.
