Hi! I’m Selina and I’ve been drumming for about two and a half years so far. When I took my first drum lesson back in October 2020, entering the Hit Like A Girl Contest definitely did not cross my mind! Typically I’m not a fan of being in the spot light so initially I thought I’d just being playing for myself in the privacy of my own home to connect with the music I love. However, bringing drums into my life has opened me up and gave me the confidence to push myself out of my comfort zone. So here I am now doing HLAG for the first time and seeing where this challenge will take me on my drumming journey. Since I’ve been working on swing grooves this year, I chose to play Rainbow’s “Long Live Rock and Roll” for HLAG 2023.
Great job!! I like the song choice too! I think there’s something to be said about putting yourself out there and HLAG gives us this ability to do that.
