Diana Nowak-Riffel (aka “Danusia Beatz”) has been playing drums since 1999 and is one of Buffalo’s most exciting and seasoned drummers on the scene. She has brought the beatz to multiple bands since 2003 ranging from rock, blues, fusion, funk, hip hop & worship. One of my biggest blessings is to have met my now husband 20yrs ago when I tried out for my first band. Since then we’ve been married 10yrs and make original music together regularly.
After a very difficult year in 2022 with a lot of grief, loss of a baby & our pooch and developing health problems, I have started getting back into drumming and this was a improv jam we did in January. We hope to make our own album this year after so many years of backing other musicians up! Music heals & I am ready to play again!

So sorry to hear you had such a bad year in 2022, but that drumming id proving good therapy for you again.
I started out accompanying my father, who played jazz piano in the style of Fatsd Waller, using pots and wooden spoons from the kitchen, bought my first set of drums when I left grad school in 1967 and then played continuously with a series of bands throughout the 70s into the early 80s and then again in 1999-2000 and 2008.
